Close-up of Sir Ouch after a bath

Sir Ouch-a-lot (unknown – 30 November 2012). Life-long enemy of Shizuka, the hunter, Sir Ouch entered our lives in 2010 through a work colleague whose son had been keeping him in the garage for years. Because of his tough upbringing, Sir Ouch could tolerate conditions well beyond the average African Pygmy Hedgehog. Most active when it’s cold outside, Sir Ouch had stitches on two separate occasions through interactions with Shizuka (not my fault–really!). Both times the prognosis was grim, and yet he pulled through healthier than ever. Though he did’t like to be touched or held, Sir Ouch-a-lot was a prominent figure in our lives and has even featured in a YouTube video with Yuuki. We lost Sir Ouch to foot cancer shortly after the surgery to amputate his leg. Rest in peace, my friend.
